Claiming a County Record

1. The score must be completed as part of an OPEN tournament.

2. if the tournament is held within the boundaries of Durham and Northumberland and is hosted by a DNAA affiliated club, the record will be awarded automatically by the DNAA records officer upon receipt of the results sheet from the tournament organiser. All results should clearly show the following for records to be claimed:

  • The date of the tournament,
  • The division the archer(s) is/are shooting in (e.g. Lady Compound etc),
  • The round(s) shot,
  • Total score,
  • The home club of the archer in question
and in the case of juniors –
It should clearly state that they are juniors and ideally separate the sexes along with the round that they have shot.

3. The only exception to rule 1 will be at closed county or invitational events such as the 'Pentangle' and '5 cornered' team matches or the National Tornaments. Essentially, most events that are larger than a club championship would suffice for a DNAA record.

4. If the new record is shot outside of DNAA then the archer is responsible in obtaining a copy of the tournament result sheet and sending it to the DNAA Records Officer as part of their claim.

5. The score must exceed the existing record published on the DNAA website or on the latest dated paper copy of the records.

6. The record will be awarded and published on the DNAA website approximately 4 times per year. An updated set of records can be obtained from the County Records Officer at any time throughout the year on receipt of a "stamped addressed envelope".

7. If a new record has not been assigned then please inform the DNAA Records Officer. If you claim and liaise through the county web site email address you should receive a 'confirmation of receipt' for your record claim.
