News Postings - January 6th 2011 - IMPORTANT for local Clubs.

Charlie Hall was sent the following email that should also have gone to every club within DNAA. It is possible that this has not happened so the full email content is shown here. Please read and resond as you feel capable. Thank-you.

Dear DNAA clubs,
Back in June 2011 I had the pleasure of coming up to Durham & Northumberland and had the opportunity to meet with some clubs and discuss the needs and requirements and some of the development work Archery GB is undertaking.
Among other things we discussed that we have been working closely with County Sports Partnerships to help facilitate archery development when we have such a small development team that cover the whole country.
There are 49 county sports partnerships covering England. They are local networks of Local authorities, National governing bodies, Clubs, Schools and School Sport Partnerships, Primary care trusts, and other local agencies committed to working together to increase participation in sport and physical activity. They are led by a central team of people whose job it is to provide leadership and co-ordination of the network.

Sport England invests in CSPs to deliver services for national governing bodies, to support work with local government and with children and young people, and to deliver Sport England’s key legacy programmes Sportivate and Sport Makers. CSPs also have access to local funding, run workshops, training courses and events – most of which are free or subsided and can be accessed by archery clubs.

DNAA area covers 4 County Sports Partnership areas – Northumberland Sport, Tyne & Wear Sport, County Durham Sport and Tees Valley Sport – and we have agreed with the 4 CSPs to meet with their local archery clubs and to start creating beneficial relationships for clubs that many other archery clubs across the country are enjoying with CSPs. We want to create the same situation in the North East.
We realise it is a big county and the distances involved for some are considerable but we would like to invite you to attend an evening meeting to meet your local CSP. This would allow you to meet representatives from your CSP and for CSPs to let clubs know what they do and how they can help. It will also be an opportunity for the clubs to let CSPs know what their needs and requirements are. Some of you may already have a relationship with your CSP but feel free to come along.

Which CSPs will attend each night will be decided once we know availability from you the clubs but we thought County Durham Sport and Tees Valley Sport to attend on Tuesday 31st January and then Northumberland Sport and Tyne & Wear on Wednesday 1st February (venues to be confirmed).
Of course if you can not attend and want to contact your CSP then please get in touch and we can provide contact details.
My colleague – Kate Moss, National Schools & Young People Coordinator – and myself will also attend and will be available to chat to as well.
I hope you can see the value in attending these meeting and we certainly want to foster these relationships for the benefit of archery in the County.
Please could you let me know by Friday 20th January whether someone from your club would like to attend by emailing arran.coggan@archerygb.org or calling me on 07525 233592 and advising me of the name of the person attending and contact details.

(To work out which would be your CSP they cover the following local authority areas:
Northumberland Sport - Northumberland County Council
Tyne & Wear Sport - Gateshead Council, Newcastle City Council, North Tyneside Council, South Tyneside Council, Sunderland City Council, County Durham Sport – Durham County Council Tees Valley Sport - Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees.)
We look forward to meeting you.
Regards,
Arran
