Archer Numbers - Current (registered) = 310.

League Listings: Listings shown for March 2012 (FINAL).

'where am I'? -- Agincourt -- Bosworth -- Bridgenorth -- Crecy -- Evesham -- Hastings -- Poitiers

April 21st 2012 News.

I'm delighted to post the final tables for 2011/12. All notified errors have been corrected and all scores entered that have been returned. League details are as follows: 310 members entered of which only 9 did not register any scores. 42 entered one score but did not gain the two scores required for a certificate. Saying that I must thank the 'new' archers who came late to the league with a single score. That then results in 259 valid members for a certificate and now all my efforts must go into printing and delivering these. Once more thanks to all.

April 12th 2012 News.

I've posted a draft version of the tables but I have another to format into divisions as soon as time permits? I have loaded the final 'whereami' list. Welcome to the new archers who joined at the end of the season, unfortunately some too late to qualify for the sertificate this year, but I hope we see them back for next season? I intend offering the league to the county committee once more for 2012 / 13 season as it's administrative cost is relatively small, but it's thanks to everyone who has participated and I hope that it provided some entertainment through the long winter? When the final tables are loaded I'm sure you'll find that some managed the season's best score so late in the season and would, undoubtedly, have managed to leap up a division were the opportunity for another month there?

April 9th 2012 News.

I'm afraid I'm running a little late with the league tables this month as some results have not yet arrived but I will create the tables later this week even if missing some entries?

March 22nd 2012 News.

The 'Bridgenorth' division has been published once again as an email from 'Wear Archers' had gone missing. All corrected now! Keep going for the next two weeks and it will all be over for the winter! We look forward to warm, wind-free days..... but I doubt if it will turn out that way?

March 12th 2012 News.

With only one more month for the league to run after the winter I have the following changes from the February scores.
from East Durham Archers - Steve Mitchell and Phil Johnson now shoot in Poitiers, Liam Thompson has posted a 'first score' and we welcome Colin Wilson and Christina McGouran.
from Saint Giles Stuart Gamble, Melvyn Murch and Robin Straughan all post 'first scores'.
from Wear Archers Margaret Knight has posted a second score and thus moves up to Poitiers.
from Morpeth Jack Fennel posts a 'first score'.
from Backworth Alan Walker, Ian Birrel (Rec) and Dennis Loader all post 'first scores' and Alan Brown moves to Agincourt.
from Green Lane we welcome Sarah Marley, Laura Armstrong,Lindsay Gill,Phillip Beeson, Cindy and Michael Carr with Lee Harris and Susan Cottage moving to Poitiers, and Richard Coulson moving to Evesham.
from Cleadon Sheila Carney posts a 'first score' and Hannah Peverley moves up to Evesham.
from Norton Archers David Kelsey moves to Bridgenorth, Angus Sanderson and Jack Saxby move to Poitiers, Martin Fitzsimons moves to Crecy (when shooting recurve) and Lewis Burnage moves to Evesham. Luke Pallis, Paul Dumain, Mark Thirkell and Alana Monaghan all post 'first scores' for their high scores this month.
from Killingworth Adam Chapman, Paul Cook, Mike Cox, Jim Ebden, Margarte Fittes (longbow) Matthew Foreman and Connor Rathbone all posted scores that were 'first scores' in their respective division. Also Andrew Allonby and Steven Foreman moved to Poitiers, Julie Bews to Bosworth, and Ben Cuthbertson to Crecy.
from Ponteland Gloria Walker and Ian Pope both enter 'first scores'.
The presentation of these tables was delayed as I was deep in the preparation for the county indoor championships, however, here they are. Of the 300 who entered the league this season 292 have entered at least one score and I wait until the final day of the season as they still have the opportuntity to post that second score for a certificate. Good shooting and for those who have ventured outdoors already, keep your feet dry!

February 13th 2012 News.

I've had a correction sent to me that does effect the tables. Lewis Burnage of Norton has posted a 'move score' that pips Joel Hall of top spot. However, Joel has put in such a good score for January that I think February should be an exciting month? Also Jon Easby has an improved score entered and this moves him up the table somewhat.... but not quite to the top!

February 11th 2012 News.

Sorry to be a little late with the tables but as the final arrivals were delivered our numbers boosted to 290 and this required a little more work, however, the tables are now here. Congratulations to all those who have moved up a division or gained a 'first score' at the limit of their divsion. The final credits to report are from Killingworth and are: Andrew Allonby, Terry Astley (BB) Julie Bews, Matthew Foreman, Kath Hall, and Richard Marsden have all posted a 'first score' from January improvements.

February 9th 2012 News.

From the final batch of results before I prepare the tables I have the following: from Durham City Deirdre Pattison posts a 'first score'. From Cleadon Hannah Peverley also posts a 'first score' and from Norton, Rob Monaghan, David Kelsey, and Angus Sanderson, post 'first scores'. Elaine Kelsey moves to Bosworth, Luke Pallis moves to Agincourt, Martin Fitzsimons moves to Evesham, Mark Chaffer moves to Poitiers as does Alana Monaghan and Rhiannon Monaghan also moves to Agincourt.

February 5th 2012 News.

From the latest returns I have the following changes to make. From 'Seahouses', all barebow we have a 'move or first score' posted by John Robson, and for Michael Robinson a move to Poitiers. For Ali Liddell a move to Bosworth, for Josh Barolla a move to Crecy and for Lois Donaldson a move to Evesham. For anyone who isn't aware a move is made when two scores are posted that are 7 or more points above the level for the current division and is planned to keep the score levels 'even' in any one division. From Bowmen of Rothbury Forest Anne Evans has posted the first move score and from Princess Royal Mel Edgely, shooting barebow this season, has posted a first score. That's all for this Sunday and I shall try to load the tables mid-week for any results received.

February 2nd 2012 News.

After a very long silence, here we go again! Scores are coming into me already but an email is due to be sent as routine to other members. I see that Margaret Knight of 'Wear Archers' has posted a 'first score' as has Jon Davies of Princess Royal (with longbow!) Now back to entering your scores! (Later that same day!) From Backworth I have Alan Brown promoted to Poitiers, George Baker promoted to Bosworth, Joanne Randles promoted to Evesham, and Dannielle Rigby promoted to Evesham. Also John Dobson posted a 'first score' as did Dennis Loader. From Green Lane, Tommy Bell, Susan Cottage and Richard Coulson, Ryan McMillan and Lee Harris all shot 'first scores'. Now to Berwick! Jack Gill moves to Evesham as do Christine Thompson and Julia Bowes. Kathy Mann moves to Crecy and John Gill (recurve) and Clive Carrick both post 'first scores'. From St Giles I see Sheila Watts has posted a 'first score'. Finally for today is East Durham Archers. Here we have a lot of changes. Steve Mitchell, Joel Hall, Billy Charters, Brian Laverick, Mary Tate, and John Wright all post a 'first score' on the verge of promotion up a division. Michael Scott moves to Crecy as does Phil Johnson and Joe Brown moves to Bosworth. We also welcome Liam Thompson and Blaine Armstrong who swell our numbers to 282 for this season. Congratulations to all.

December 11th 2011 News.

Apologies to Josh Barolla who suffered from my abilty to snip the table at the wrong place. Now fixed!

December 10th 2011 News.

All tables loaded! Killingworth were the last to send full details and there scores are included. Richard Marsden shooting longbow posted a 'first' score as did Andrea Wilson, also longbow. The league welcomes Andrew Allonby, Steven Foreman, Andrea Sammut and David Swabey having just entered their first ever score to the league. Moving to the tables, you may notice some archers appear to have scores way above the levels set for the division (or lower in a few cases) These are shown as the archer passes through a division if they started in a division too low for their abilty. The limits are checked at each entry and will correct themselves as the league progresses. I can assure everyone that the tables are only a snapshot in time and level out. Also I have highlighted the top score for November in each case PLUS the top scoring archer overall. Obviously those who are here for the full duration have more chance of being final league top scorer but everyone has a chance of monthly top archer. Enjoy the festive break and please remember that I merge December and January due to venue closures but I am happy to record a score for you from December if you have one that you think will prove to be your best. It's easy to record a better score if January produces a purple patch for you? Any news will appear here and I'll add a warning to the home page. Thanks....

December 8th 2011 News.

With only one club to send scores into me (my own club as it happens) I will publish the lists as they stand on 9th December. I welcome Hannah Peverley of Cleadon into the league and note that Mike and Sheila Carney, also Cleadon, entered the first 'move' score in their current division. The first step to an upwward move.

December 5th 2011 News.

After the latest scores have been received I should give the following mentions. I should record a 'move score' from Jackie Skaife and also welcome Jake Smith and Ann Maughan from Durham City. From Berwick a 'move score' is recorded for Jack Gill (longbow). From Border Bowmen, Leigh Christie moves to Bridgenorth. From Norton we have a flurry of activity! With 'move scores' we have Lisa Kelsey, Rhiannon Monaghan, John Kelsey (longbow) Alana Monaghan, Luke Pallis, Martin Fitzsimons and Mark Chaffer (compound). Then with division changes we have Barry Monaghan to Bosworth, Nicola McCullogh to Crecy, Lisa Kelsey (recurve) to Poitiers, Elaine Kelsey (recurve) to Agincourt and Simon Blanchard who moves straight to Bridgenorth as Simon has already sent a score for December / January. I still have a few clubs to respond but will post tables within the week.

December 2nd 2011 News.

I must thank everyone who is running the league this year as numbers have now reached 246 in the lists. Although all the results are not entered and collated yet, I have the following already to announce. From East Durham 'move' scores were posted by Michael Scott and Joe Brown. Mel Edgely of 'Princess Royal' (shooting barebow this year) has been moved to Poitiers. From Backworth, Alan Brown and Joanne Randles post 'move' scores and George Baker moves to Agincourt. Ian Birrell is now Poitiers, Kris Rixon is now Evesham. From Dragon Peter Ryan is now Bridgenorth. At Green Lane, Jim Smith and Kaye Neale and Julie Potts post 'move' scores and David Potts moves to Bosworth. So far today those are the results I need to announce but I must also welcome another 20 or more new members who have started shooting in the league since October. Of course Catherine Coddington sent the score in early and also moved up a division. I've loaded the 'where am I' list again so new member scan see where they have been placed.

November 17th 2011 News.

After a tremendous result at Killingworth Open I see that Catherine Coddington has posted the first score needed to leap up to the next level.

November 17th 2011 News.

I've loaded the latest version of the 'whereami' spreadsheet as our numbers have swelled to 225 now. It's mid-November now with ample opportunity to gain that 'best ever' score. I'd like to welcome the new archers to the league and wish everyone good-shooting for the remainder of the month. For latecomers the October scores have been entered by me but will not appear in the published lists until November.

November 6th 2011 News.

As promised I have loaded the new divisions. Compared to last years entries we have the following: Agincourt is the same size. Bosworth swells from 62 to 80 members. Bridgenorth from 18 to 21, Crecy from 15 to 24. Evesham is the same size but Hastings blooms from 16 to 34. Poitiers increases from 20 to 23. So we're off and running for the winter. Lots of close scores that will allow movement from month to month and the chance to be top scorer in any month for anyone?

November 6th 2011 News.

I should have added yesterday that it would help me if you check that I have your name spelling correct and that you do exist in the 'whereami' list. If not then just let me know and I shall correct the error! Although I do try to have zero errors I must admit to be prone to the odd 'fiyer'.
Let's cover possible moves first! From 'Norton' I see that David and Nicola McCullogh, Lisa and Elaine Kelsey, and Simon Blanchard all have scores that hint at a move up the line if perormances are maintained. From 'Seahouses' I have the same for John Robson, Josh Borella, Steve Clements and Sam Garnham. From 'Backworth', George baker, Ian Birrell, Kris Rixon and Danielle Rigby. From 'Border Bowmen' I note Leigh Christie and Robbie Sibbald. From 'Green Lane' Liam Johnson and David Potts, then at 'Berwick', Julia Bowes, Christine Thompson, Kathy Mann, John Gill and Brian Younger. For those members who are new to the league what happens is that the program I use for collating scores warns me if a score is 7 or more points above the top score for the band. To protect against it being one of those wonderful purple patches I do nothing for the month other than report it's excellence. However, if it happens again then up you go to the next band up. Expect a good level of improvement as I expect, with a little committment, many of you will progress upwards over the winter?

November 5th 2011 News.

With results rushing in and on the eve of my own Club Indoor Open it's limited what I can produce this week-end. I have, however, prepared the 'where am I' list for those who have already returned names and results. I hope that, by Monday evening at the latest I shall have the first 2011/12 league tables posted. I can already see a number of 'first score' levels returned that indicate either excellent shooting or excellent shooting! With some returns still to do I expect the initial 'member numbers' to exceeed 200.

October 21st 2011 News.

A welcome is due to Seahouses and GLAD who both enter members and swelling the numbers to 90 registered so far this indoor season. Scores are trickling in for those who have limited time to shoot but for the remainder of us we have 10 more days before the first month closes. I'll email on 7th November to poll for results but this will be a general email to everyone, but I will reply to each email containing scores as they arrive.

October 18th 2011 News.

Having just entered the names already given to me we have 84 true and hardy members so far. I know that numbers will not become clearer before November as my own club, for one, will wait until then to send details into me. However, this year, alongside all the new names, I'd like to welcome back Mel Edgley from Princess Royal who, this year, had gone to bare-bow. From the score already sent to me it's obvious that Mel is shooting way above the 'home' division. Maybe this will be the years first 'move'? I've also entered Backworth, Berwick, Cleadon, Durham City, Border Bowmen (by some chance from the borders!). I have Andrew Frankish from Priory, and thanks to Barbara Walton I have entries from Dragon. I've also a list from Green Lane. We're only half way through the month so maybe your best score hasn't been shot yet? Keep going AND GOOD LUCK!
