Questions and Answers - coaching
Regional, County, Coach and Assistant Coach grades have been the coaching levels administrated within G.N.A.S. for many years but these are now to be replaced by new levels 1 to 5.Due to involvement in all sports and standardisation by the UK government these newer levels will be seen in most, if not all, sports and will ultimately become a 'License to Coach'. 'Assistant Coach' is currently slightly below, and is being replaced by the new 'Level 1'. 'Coach' is approximately the same as the new 'Level 2'. 'County Coach' will equate to the new 'Level 3' 'Regional Coach' will equate to the new 'Level 4' and the new 'Level 5' will be for those who may be performing 'temporary' developmental or 'international' tasks. At the time of creating this answer (August 2006), level 2 and 3 are currently under development. The new 'level 1' coach will be the most influential grade as it will be these coaches who provide the uniform entry level coaching within the sport. |
