Logical League Gossip:

May 1st 2011 News.

League Certificates are all completed and should be posted to clubs shortly. A delay was caused partly by my sudden inablity to type anything without, somehow, screwing it up! However, all is now ready.

April 7th 2011 News.

With only the odd result or two to still come in I've posted the tables that stand currently. If the league continued any further these are the changes that were flagged to me: Pete Betley (Princess Royal) was promoted, and from 'Border Bowmen' Sarah Emmerson posted a first score as did Sarah Maher, Joe Brown and Graham Moore. Alex Moore moved to 'Crecy' and Kateland Moore to 'Evesham'. Jeff Moon and John Clasper arrived as new members and Jon Davies posted a first score from Princess Royal. From Ponteland Beate Cook posted a first score. From Norton Alana Monaghan, Lisa Kelsey and Elaine Kelsey all posted 'First Scores'. From Berwick, Kathy Mann moved to 'Evesham', Frazer Thompson moved to 'Bosworth' and Chris Falconer posted a 'First Score'. From Green Lane, Pat Baker posted a 'First Score', Eric Burn moved to 'Agincourt', Chloe Corrigan moved to 'Bosworth' and John Corrigan moved to 'Poitiers'. Martyn Potts moved to 'Evesham'. From Killingworth, Jim Ebden posted a 'First Score' as did Luke Fittes, Daniel Gibson, Ian Graham, Connor Rathbone, Keith Ritson, Ann Todd and Ron Wilson. James Aitchison moved to 'Agincourt', Fed Hedley to 'Bosworth' Dylan Ross and Jake Smith to 'Evesham'. Ideally you should confirm your last division by using the 'whereami' link but I've taken out all those who have less than one result. The next job is the preparation and printing of the certificates and I hope to make a start on those by the week-end.

March 11th 2011 News.

I'd like to welcome Sarah Maher, Philip Johnson and Peter Dring from East Durham Archers who have become members for the league and also announce 'first scores' for Alex Moore and Kateland Moore (same club). From Kirknewton we have a 'first score' from Jo Lloyd, and from Killingworth we have James Aitchison moving to 'Poitiers', Richard Marsden (longbow) moving to 'Crecy', Ron Mathieson moving to Bosworth and Nathan Tooks moving to 'Crecy'. 'First Scores' were claimed by Jake Smith, Dylan Ross, Mary Rathbone (barebow) and Neil Haswell (compound). I've also introduced a page 'where am I' so everyone can see which league they are in for any bow type. This current month is now the final one for the winter Keep going, so many are doing well and it's almost over.

March 6th 2011 News.

With still a number of clubs (including my own) to return results, as promised, I've loaded the scores received so far. Maybe for next year I will introduce a list of "where you are now" as it has become evident that you may lose your divisional position when movements happen over the months. Too late for this year but easy to do from the start. For those clubs still to respond, I'll wait a few more days then send a reminder. In all divisons some excellent scores have been returned. I only wish I could have a 'Logical Final' without the need for expensinve travel and time, but that's a dream! I'll load completed tables as soon as is possible.

March 4th 2011 News.

It is still early in the month for full results but from those already returned here is the good news for archers out there. Sarah Emmerson of Border Bowmen, after a second high score moves up to 'Agincourt' and a 'well done from me'. From Green Lane David Potts now graces 'Bosworth' while Martyn Potts posts a 'first score'. Mel Edgely of 'Princess Royal' also records a 'first score'. Back to Green Lane Richard Baker posts a 'first score' as do Eric Burn, John Corrigan and James McKenzie. Chloe Corrigan moves to 'Agincourt' while shooting 'recurve'. Susan Cottage moves to 'Poitiers', and Eileen Hood moves to 'Bosworth'. Up at Ponteland Beate Cook shooting barebow moves to 'Evesham'. At Berwick Frazer Thompson and Kathy Mann both post 'first scores' while John Gill shooting Longbow moves up to 'Evesham'. To round off news of 'Evesham' Paul Heaton of Norton also moves here. To close this gossip Mick Knight of Durham City moves to Bosworth while Margaret Knight now graces 'Crecy'. For those who have moved please remember that these moves will echo in the tables once posted. Although incomplete I hope to do them this coming Sunday.

February 12th 2011 News.

A couple of 'moves' from Kirknewton, just in, are: Neil Endicott moving to Bosworth and Alex Nesbit posting a 'first score'.

February 10th 2011 News.

After the long winter stretch I have almost all the scores in for this entry. Most, but not all. However here are the noticeable movements, or potential moves. I'll take Killingworth first: Nathan Tooke posts a 'first score' as do James Aitchison, Terry Astley (Longbow), Jim Ebden, Kath Hall, Fred Hedley, Sean Malia, Richard Marsden (longbow), Mary Rathbone (barebow), Keith Ritson and Maureen Ritson. For moves we had Mark Robertson (barebow) to Agincourt, and Christopher Summersall to Crecy.

From Cleadon we have Linda Bulman moving to Evesham and from Ponteland Beate Cook produced a 'first score'.

From Green Lane Susan Cottage posted a 'first score', then to Norton Rob Monaghan and Lisa Kelsey posted 'first scores' and Graham Lowes moved to Evesham. At East Durham Archers John McDonald moved to Bosworth while Joe Brown and Graeme Moore posted 'first scores'.

At Dragon J R Welbourn (sorry I have no first name) posted a 'first score', Mel Edgely (Pricess Royal) moves to Agincourt, and from Berwick Clive Carrick (recurve) moves to Agincourt, Sandy Cox to Bosworth and Fraser thompson produced a 'first score'. The final few for this month are: Mick Knight of Durham City moving to agincourt while Margaret Knight produced a 'first score' and at 'Border Bowmen' Sarah Emmerson put in a 'first score' also. well done to all those who shot over the cold weather. There's something for everyone as we've had lots of movement through the divisions since the start and you may have posted the top score for the month even if you haven't gathered the top points total.Only two months of the indoor season remain and we are well into one of those two months. Good shooting to you all, and warm sports halls!

December 11th 2010 News.

Almost all the scores are in now, less a few. Time to load the final tables for this month. John McDonald of East Durham has posted a 'move score' so one more over the December / January 'month' will exsure a move upwards. Undoubtedly the merge of December and January, although started to allow time due to loss of venues due to holidays has proved to be sensible due to the extreme weather problems we have all had to contend with recently. I hope you all have a relaxing festive break and any snippets I hear about will be posted in this news area over the coming weeks? When the next 'month' is over I will remove any names that have entered but not shot as we will, by then be half way through the winter season.

December 6th 2010 News.

Quickly posted tonight are the league tables with the results received so far. You will notice that they are incomplete but provide the chance to see how your efforts have effected the lists.

December 3rd 2010 News.

Only December 2nd and a huge response already. So let's report those changes I already know about! from Durham City, Michael Knight moves to Poitiers and Margaret Knight is almost there, keep it up! From Princess Royal Mel Edgely moves to Poitiers. Sharon Robinson (GNAS) moves to Bosworth. From Priory, Kelly Kurtis, Gordon Ford and John Anderton all post 'first scores'.

Now a few 'new' members of the League. Welcome to Diane Eaglestone, Leigh Christie of 'Border', Paul Heaton (also posts a first score), Leigh Christie (Border) and Jane Lowes (GLAD) all join in, as do Gordon Dunk and Sean Malia of Killingworth. As this is the second month of the winter, then changes come thick and fast so here they are and reported only in the order I keyed them into the database: Alana Monaghan (Norton) 1st score declared, Lisa Kelsey moves to Crecy, Elaine Kelsey moves to Poitiers, David Kelsey moves to Bosworth and Jan Kelsey also moves to Bosworth. Chris Pearce moves to Bosworth, Michael Murray moves to Bridgenorth. For Berwick, John Gill while shooting longbow moves to Crecy, as does Chris Falconer, Ian Chu moves to Poitiers, Tom Ryder moves to Agincourt and Sandy Cox puts in a 1st Score. Teetering on the top of the division. Ian Graham of Killingworth puts in a 1st score as does Bill Whitenstall. Len Rathbone (Barebow) and Mark Robertson (Barebow) both put in 1st scores in their 'alternative' bow styles.

Now to Green Lane, Tommy Bell moves to Bosworth, as does Andrew Cottage and Stephen Henderson, while Eileen Hood shooting compound puts in a 1st score. Young Sam Hood puts in the second score that results in a move up to Bosworth. Finally, for this entry Liam Johnson moves to Poitiers. Some results are still to arrive and it's a little early to post the tables but congratulations to those who have shot so well so far. Please remember that I merge December and January as schools and premises are so often unavailable over the coming weeks but that's no reason to put off shooting. Keep going and see what you can do!

November 12th 2010 News.

As often in the first month of the league we can see plenty of 'first score' results being presented. Only one more of the standard and moves will be automatic. The following posted 'first scores'. From Cleadon we have Alan Hudson, from Green Lane we have Tommy Bell, Andrew Cottage, Stephan Henderson, Sam Hood and Liam Johnson. From Berwick, John Gill (Longbow), Kathy Mann, Chris Falconer, Ian Chu, Tom Ryder, Brian Younger and Clive Carrick. Mel Edgeley of Princess Royal, and from Norton - Rob Monaghan, Lisa Kelsey, Elaine Kelsey, David Kelsey and Jan Kelsey, plus Graham Lowes. Now we're a third of the way through November it allows each of us to work towards that 'better' score for the coming month. Not everyone who registered has had the opportunity to shoot but the names are still placed in the tables anticipating a result next month. Good Shooting everyone!

November 1st 2010 News.

November 1st and the first entry into the gossip column! Entries are creeping up for the season and we're tipping over 100 so far with more to come as the results for October are now due. For all 'contacts' on my list I will be sending out the customary 'reminder' email although I have results entered already. Some so high your eyes will pop!
Welcomed back this year (so far) are Heugh, Green Lane, Cleadon, Berwick and the lads of 'Princess Royal', but we also welcome Whitburn, GNAS, Priory and our friends from 'Border Bowmen'. I also believe that we'll welcome East Durham Archers this year?

From results here already Michael Murray of Border posted a score that warns me of a possible move from Bosworth to Bridgenorth with Sarah Emmerson of the same club hinting at a move from Poitiers to Agincourt. This sets up exciting jousts between Alan Blogg of Heugh and Michael Murray who have already posted huge scores for the initial month. For the remainder of us mortal souls we have six months to work towards a season best. Good Shooting and as soon as I have the majority of scores in for October I'll build the division tables and post them on this site.
