'Logical' League 2007 - 2008

League Listings: April 12th - The following links will take you to the final results lists for the indoor season just closing now. The list is sorted from the highest accummulation of points, for convenience so those who managed to shoot every month stand a good chance of being nearer the top for points although no distinction is made for different bow types. Where archers have started in a different division, this is indicated in the 'Start League' column.
Each page opens in it's own 'window' and can be closed by using the 'button' at the bottom of the page. Each archer who managed to complete two of the six months of the league will be sent an award certificate in due course. The lists include anyone who was registered prior to October 2007, even though no results have been returned.
For the next season I will try to make it easier for clubs or archers to participate but any changes will be announced after the summer. To close, it has been a delight to run over the six winter months and I look forward to next season as it can be seen that better scores have been achieved in all areas. Congratulations to everyone.

A quick precis of the 'logical league'.

Preparing for the League - some initial information:

1 - The league is for pleasure for archers who are novice, improver and recreational.
2 - The round is limited to 3 dozen arrows but these must be shot as consecutive dozens at the same session. A short enough session that we should all have time to complete.
3 - Arrangements are made for limited shooting space (less than 20 yards).
4 - An archer may enter multiple times but only for different bow styles.
5 - No score limit cap has been set. Levels up to Portsmouth maximum are accepted.
6 - This league has been designed for individual archers and is not a 'team' league.
7 - You may enter the league at any time even if you are a 'beginner' from a course well after the October start date.

What do I need to do?

A - Register with me using the dnaa web site 'replies' email link. I need to know your name, club, sex (lady, gent, junior boy or girl), bow type and the division you think you best fit into. (See divisions below).
B - On October 1st start shooting and collecting scores.... either at a 60cm face no closer than 60 feet (20 yards) away, OR at a 40cm face no closer than 40 feet (13yards 2 feet) away. Please remember to only count your best three consecutive dozens and these must be from the same session.
C - Within the first seven (7) days of the following month send me your 'best' score.
D - I divide your score by 5 to give you your league points. If the remainder is 3 or more then you gain an extra point..... so keep trying right to the last arrow!
E - Do the same for the following month and on throughout the winter season. This will be until the end of March so I should receive your last score before April 7th.
F - You can run this either as an individual OR as a club. I have no preference other than to keep the league moving. In the table below you should find the leagues named. Forget the Hi / Lo threshold as these are the 'trigger' point which determine if you are competing in the wrong league for your ability. The 'score range' shows your anticipated scores based on three dozen arrows.

Divisions:

  Hastings Evesham Crecy Poitiers
Score range 0 - 186 187 - 222 223 - 252 253 - 276
Hi / Lo threshold     193 181   229 217   259 246   283

  Agincourt Bosworth Bridgenorth
Score range 277 - 300 301 - 330 331 - 360
Hi / Lo threshold 271   307 295   337 325

This shows seven named divisions each with an upper and lower limit.

The bottom line shows the ‘margin’ or ‘threshold’ set for the division.

For example in the ‘Evesham’ league, repeated scores above 229 would result in promotion to the ‘’Crecy’ league. Or repeated scores below 181 would result in placement into the ‘Hastings’ league. Scores within 187 to 222 would be classed as normal.
